While updating via SQRL auto-update feature, Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) blocks the update, and quarantines all the files. This happens because sqrl.exe and sqrl-installer.exe (and sqrl-fork.exe) do not yet have a reputation.
Everytime this happens I need to go find the file, download it, and install it from the download file. And I can only do that because I was able to add an exception in SEP for sqrl.exe. Updating via the Auto-Update feature ALWAYS quarantines all the sqrl related executables (even though I have an exception already for sqrl.exe). Then I have to "recover" the sqrl.exe file - and then install it again.
If there was an option on the auto-update notification page, that would allow to download the file instead of installing in place, it would be much easier to install the new versions.
thanks.
