I got Testflight and SQRL onto my iPhone.

Alas I can't find the way to create a SQRL ID without Windows. I have a Mac, and haven't used a virtual machine in a decade. I have retired, so I don't have access to a windows machine to run the Sqrl.exe.

How do I create an ID?

On the first screen tap on the folder in the folder in the top right, then the + in the top right.

Thank you. Unfortunately, I still am lost.

I have been using computers since Jimmy Carter was President. In the 1980s I taught myself how to use UNIX and DOS by reading the Man and Help files, and paper manuals. I've been on the Internet since the early 80s when it was text only, using email, telnet, ftp, usenet, etc. And I've been using the web since the Lynx and Mosaic days.

Alas my mind is not what it was. I have cognitive and memory issues, but not enough to need to be in a home.

I do not know what you mean by the 'first screen.' I checked using Safari, Firefox, and Brave on the following sites, but do not see a "folder in the folder in the top right." Neither do I see one on the left, except for the SQRL Essentials. That one did not take me to another folder with a +.

As I said I am lost. What is the link to the 'first screen.'

I am sorry for my confusion.

be well,
Doug

I believe @Jeffa meant the first screen you encounter inside the SQRL client app when you launch it. Unfortunately I don't have such a device to produce any screen shots or other helpful materials. It definitely has NOTHING to do with any site you might visit to use your SQRL identity... SQRL user identity management is, and always should be, restricted to the SQRL client... if individual sites got involved then your identity might become compromised. (Use of the Managed Shared Access (MSA) feature involves issuing invitations from a site, but let's not muddle things as there are no live sites currently using MSA anyway.)

You say you have test flight and SQRL installed.

Run sqrl on your device by tapped on the sqrl icon

This is the first screen. Tap the folder in the top right.

This is the second screen. (I have lots of identities, for you the list will be empty)

Tap the + in the top left.

Follow the prompts.

Okay thanks.

For some reason, I thought that I needed to go back to GRC to create the identity. I didn't occur to me to see if I could do it from within the app. I read the SQRL documentation ages ago, but I failed to read the current docs before trying to set SQRL up. That was very sloppy on my part.

I have an ID now.

I tried to log into the GRC forums via the SQRL QR code. The iOS app crashed. I shared the crash info.

Again thanks

be well,
Doug
