    SQRL On Sites Without SQRL

Does SQRL satisfy PSD2 SCA requirements for "dynamic linking"?

Based on my reading/understanding of what you wrote, my gut instinct is yes, the built in SQRL functionality to ask a question and collect an answer from the user should totally meet the requirement.

    Chrome

Yeah, I don't think the extension is workable any more anyway. Browsers keep "innovating" their support for extensions, and unfortunately SQRL never really caught on quite to the extent we all hoped it would, so the interest from various developers seems to have waned and their software has...

    Troubleshooting SQRL installation

Well, if you look at the banner on the top of these forums, you should find "SQRL Essentials" and one of the sub links of that is this: https://sqrl.grc.com/pages/getting_started_with_sqrl/ . It honestly has been some years since I set all this up and I forget more than I remember, but you...

    Troubleshooting SQRL installation

It doesn't need one, at least on Windows. If you install and use Steve's client, it works fine. It will be invoked by the browser when used with a SQRL login (at least one properly coded, such as on this site.)

    Troubleshooting SQRL installation

Hi Carl: You must be using one of the [incomplete] browser plugins. They were started long ago, but never finished nor kept up to date with modern browser updates. They're most likely unusable. It's sad to report, but SQRL just never gained significant traction, and the enthusiasm some of...

    Windows “Hello”

While he might be interested, I suspect he is not. He has made a number of posts or podcast comments that seem to imply he regrets spending all that time on SQRL (relative to adoption.) If I read that right, then I don't think he's going to invest more "good" time after "bad".

    SQRL Client Information

I'm afraid there hasn't been any further development on this client in years. I never could get it to work right on Windows.

    SQRL OAuth 2.0 Provider

What needs to happen is for something new to adopt SQRL from day one. Say someone had a great idea for "PodCast Maker Extreme Pro" that all the YouTuber's just HAD to have. If it came with a SQRL option, there would probably be enough of them (the "influencers") that would feel the need to be...

    SQRL OAuth 2.0 Provider

Everything someone comes up with has a threat model it fits within. How concerned are you, really, that you're going to be targeted by a mal-actor trying to steal your credentials. Normally, you take the best precautions, and get on with life--no need to live your life in fear, unless you do...

    SQRL OAuth 2.0 Provider

I think Steve is a little over ambitious when he says there are developers working on anything SQRL related. Lot's of things could happen, but I don't think many are... there probably haven't been more than 50 posts here in the last year.

    SQRL OAuth 2.0 Provider

@josecgomez since you seem too busy to fix it (or too disinterested?) are you willing to open source it and/or transfer the domain to someone else who would have the time and willingness to advance it? I get how it's not really worth the time and energy to work on when no one is using it, but...

    SQRL OAuth 2.0 Provider

SQRLOauth was created and is operated by a third party. There has been no adoption of SQRL by sites directly, so therefore it was a way to maybe support it on some sites, like the TWiT site. Unfortunately there appears to be a bug in the code (it did once work) that has been repeatedly pointed...

    SQRL OAuth 2.0 Provider

@Steve @n333 @josecgomez Jose's SQRL OAuth site hasn't accepted new registrations in a long time. Jose kept saying he'd check into it, but he's busy, and I don't think he has ever made the time to fix it. It did continue working for registered users, but I stopped using it (because the only...

    FYI Update 08/02/2021

@Jeffa Perhaps you'll want to clean up the old issues here? Anyway, I just logged in now using the new client, and it worked fine. I did encounter a few items. The first try was password and got to 100% as expected. The second try (iPad) was by fingerprint, and it showed 200%. Also, having...

    SQRL OAuth 2.0 Provider

It's probably not working, but it's hard to know precisely what you're doing from just that pic. My experience (last time I tried) is it works for pre-existing users, but new users were unable to sign up at all. I thought Jose was aware of this, and was going to look into it, but there hasn't...

    Videos demonstrating SQRL

@thejim I think you have missed the point of SQRL. It is NOT a password manager. You can't use it with any site not specifically setup to work with SQRL. Unfortunately there are not a lot of those in existence as yet, so you may be too early to a party that hasn't happened yet (and may never...

    SQRL OAuth 2.0 Provider

OAuth is not the preferred solution, it is just the currently available solution. The OAuth protocol requires information because of who originated it (FaceBroke and Google and big companies like that) and they gather info about you when you use it. The provider of the SQRL OAuth is not about...

    SQRL OAuth 2.0 Provider

Anything that is not equivalent to having it built into a site is just a stop gap. I don't really feel we should spill much ink trying to choose the most perfect of the imperfect options.
