Yes, agreed that we should work to apply pressure to make sure localhost and 127.0.0.1 by default is explicitly excluded from the "require SSL" policy.
If something is hosting on localhost, its very nature implies an explicit trust.
I wonder though if a browser can create listening network...
Heard Steve mention in SN: 794 that SQRL uses a http connection to the local windows client via the localhost. Is the forthcoming (enforced https, deprecate/disable/error message on http connections) from chrome and all other eventually going to affect the SQRL's client?
The first one was definitely the cleanest (not the most compact but I don't think that's much of an issue to consider) and it falls in line with other big website login pages that use OAUTH/alternate authentication sources (stackoverflow as an example).
I always try and consider is will xyz UI confuse Grandma/Grandpa...but I guess they're probably not administrating a wordpress website ;)
Of course, I think this is the generic wordpress login dialog, so if you had comments/authors/readers/registered users of any kind Grandma/Grandpa may see...
